Interactive
With Spanish safari, children are not merely passive observers of information. They are active participants in a story that asks them to answer questions, solve puzzles, find clues and interact with the 3D world the game encompasses. It’s fun! And fun is the best way for children to learn.
Gradual Immersion
Spanish Safari is meant to be used by both, children who speak Spanish and children who have no background whatsoever in the language. The app was designed to gradually increase the use of the language in order to ensure children from various backgrounds can feel comfortable, become engages, and are able to learn!
Game-Based Learning
Game-based learning is the integration of gaming techniques (point systems, rewards, rules of play, etc.) that are based on the core drives of motivation into an experience in order to increase engagement. Some of these drivers include a sense of accomplishment, empowerment, curiosity, avoidance, scarcity, and a sense of ownership.
Spaced Repetition of Vocabulary
Research has shown that the repetition of information that is spaced out over time is a more effective way of learning and remembering information in the long-term. Increasing the intervals of time between reviews of material makes it more likely that someone will remember it. Spanish Safari has been designed with this in mind, making sure that children receive repeated exposure to vocabulary in a way that is most effective.
Story-Based Learning
Spanish Safari is not just a game. It’s a whole 3D world filled with fun and colorful characters that children can connect with and learn from. The narrative serves to drive children’s interests in solving the puzzles, helping the characters, and ultemately, in learning.
Do I need to sit with my child for every lesson?
While not necessary for every lesson, sitting and playing with your child can enhance their learning experience. The game is designed to be easily played by children of all ages.
